March Full Moon 2021
The full moon of March 2021 was a sight to see! With the moon rising over the trees as Easter approaches, I decided I need to try to capture it in detail.
Using my phone and our telescope on the 29th of March, I managed to focus it on the moon and take a bunch of photos. The first ones didn't come out very well as the telescope has been sitting out on the veranda and had become home to many insects, however after a quick clean I was able to take some pretty extrodinary photos with just my phone.
Traditionally called the Spring Full Moon, our Supermoon has a variety of different names because of its significance in the seasonal calendar. It has been called 'Worm Moon' as it signified the return of the earthworms as the Earth softened to allow them to come to the surface. Another name is the "Crust Moon" as the snow mealts during the day and is frozen overnight (not here in Australia though!).

I used the telescope the next day and didn't realise how dirty it actually was! Before the next big astrological phenomenon I will be sure to thouroughly clean the telescope!
